Living in Milwaukee, we often experience a funny phenomenon when it comes to weather. Because we’re close to Lake Michigan, we either get WAY less snow than the rest of the state or we get WAY more. Unfortunately, this year we’ve gotten way less. Being that I actually enjoy the snow (when I don’t have to drive in it) it’s been kind of sad.

We got a powdery dusting two weekends ago:

But it melted within a day and left behind a soggy mess.

Last night, however, we ended getting a good two inches in the city. Yay! When we pulled into our driveway, I couldn’t help but be amazed at how beautiful everything looked:

I was super excited to shovel our driveway for the first time. Jason went on a run and kept muttering about how bad it looked to all of the other husbands on our street for him to be running off merrily while his wife slaved away, but, like snow, I actually enjoy shoveling so I ignored him.

The temperature was somewhere in the low 30, which meant that the snow was perfect for packing snowballs and snowmen. When Jason got back from his run, we did both :). Then, I headed inside for a bowl of homemade beef stew and biscuits. Life is good on the northside!
