Attack of the Honeysuckle Vine

Even with last year’s drought, the honeysuckle vine in the south garden did really well. This year, with all of the rain and few HOT muggy days, it’s going crazy.

I can’t believe the scent of these blooms. It’s so sweet and heavy – almost like a magnolia but not quite as sugary. It’s so pungent that if I sit anywhere near the south window in the living room I can smell it wafting in. It’s nice, especially at night when you can’t always SEE life happening, to be able to SMELL it.
